Ingredients

For the Ramen
  • 2 packs instant ramen noodles your favorite flavor – chicken or vegetarian work well
  • 2 cups water
For the Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce or vegetarian stir-fry sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar or honey
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 0.5 teaspoon ginger grated
  • 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional, for a pinch of heat
Toppings (Customize to your liking!)
  • 1 green onion sliced
  • 1 soft-boiled egg halved
  • sesame seeds
  • sriracha or chili oil optional
  • cooked protein of your choice chicken, pork, tofu
  • steamed vegetables broccoli, spinach, bok choy

Equipment

  • Pot
  • Bowl

Method

  1. Cook the Noodles: Boil water in a pot. Add ramen noodles and cook until tender, usually around 2-3 minutes. Drain the noodles, reserving about 1/4 cup of the cooking water.
  2. Prepare the Sauce: In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce (or stir-fry sauce), sesame oil, rice vinegar, brown sugar (or honey), minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  3. Combine and Mix: Add the drained noodles to the bowl with the sauce. Pour in the reserved cooking water – this creates a smooth, emulsified sauce. Mix everything well, ensuring the noodles are evenly coated.
  4. Add Toppings: Transfer the TikTok Ramen to a serving bowl. Arrange your favorite toppings: sliced green onions, a soft-boiled egg, sesame seeds, sriracha/chili oil, cooked protein, and steamed vegetables.
  5. Serve Immediately: Enjoy your delicious and flavorful ramen right away!

Notes

Reserve some cooking water to help create a smooth, emulsified sauce. Customize toppings based on preference - add cooked protein, vegetables, or adjust spice level. Use vegetarian stir-fry sauce as an alternative to oyster sauce. Serve immediately for best texture and flavor.
