Method
 

  1. Preheat: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the Cream Cheese Filling: In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

  3. Unfold the Pastry: Gently unfold the thawed puff pastry onto a lightly floured surface.

  4. Cut into Hearts: Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter (approximately 3-4 inches) to cut out as many hearts as possible.
  5. Add the Filling: Spoon a small amount of the cream cheese mixture into the center of each heart.

  6. Top with Strawberries: Arrange the sliced strawberries on top of the cream cheese filling.

  7. Brush with Egg Wash: Brush the edges of each heart with milk or egg for egg wash to help them brown beautifully. This adds a bit of richness and shine to your danishes.

  8. Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the filling is set.
