In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and strawberry cake mix until well combined.

Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

Gently fold in the chocolate chips (and crushed freeze-dried strawberries, if using).

Drop by rounded tablespoons onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.
Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
