Preheat: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan or spray it with non-stick cooking spray.
Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Make sure there are no lumps in the flour.
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 2 teaspoons baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt
Mix Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and strawberry puree until well combined.
1 large egg, 3/4 cup milk, 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1/2 cup strawberry puree (fresh or frozen)
Combine Wet and Dry: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently mix until *just* combined. Be careful not to overmix. A few lumps are okay!
Fill Donut Pan: Transfer the batter to a piping bag or a zip-top bag with a corner cut off. Pipe the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about two-thirds full. (An alternative method is to fill a ziplock bag so it can easily be poured into the donut tray.)
Bake: Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool: Let the donuts cool for a few minutes in the pan before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Glaze (Optional): In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Dip the cooled Strawberry Baked Donuts into the glaze and sprinkle with chopped fresh strawberries.
1 cup powdered sugar, 2-3 tablespoons milk, Chopped fresh strawberries
Serve: Enjoy your Strawberry Baked Donuts fresh!
