Notes

For the best Sausage Cheese Dip, start with high-quality sausage. Sweet Italian sausage provides a milder flavor, while hot Italian sausage will add a spicy kick. Be sure to drain any excess grease from the sausage after cooking to prevent a greasy dip. When mixing the cheese, ensure the cream cheese is fully softened at room temperature to achieve a smooth, lump-free consistency. If the dip becomes too thick, add a bit more milk or cream to thin it out. Feel free to customize the cheese blend based on your personal preferences – pepper jack would be a great addition for extra heat! Using a cast iron skillet to prepare and serve the dip, keeps it warmer for a longer period of time. Ultimately, the key is to taste and adjust the ingredients until you achieve your ideal flavour profile.
