Red Hot Cinnamon Hard Candy Recipe

A quick and easy recipe for homemade red hot cinnamon hard candy with a fiery cinnamon flavor.

Ingredients
  

Sugar Mixture
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup light corn syrup
  • ½ cup water
Flavor and Color
  • 1 teaspoon red food coloring gel
  • 1-2 teaspoons cinnamon flavor oil

Equipment

  • Medium saucepan
  • Candy Thermometer
  • Silicone Baking Mat

Method
 

  1. Combine sugar, corn syrup, and water in a medium saucepan.
    2 cups granulated sugar, ¾ cup light corn syrup, ½ cup water
  2. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
  3. Continue to boil without stirring until a candy thermometer registers 300°F (149°C). This is the "hard crack" stage.
  4. Take the saucepan off the heat immediately.
  5. Quickly stir in the red food coloring and cinnamon flavoring oil. Mix well.

  6. Pour the mixture onto a silicone baking mat.
  7. Let the candy cool completely. Then, break it into pieces.
  8. Dust in powdered sugar and serve!
