Notes
Selecting high-quality ingredients makes a big difference in this recipe. Opt for fresh mozzarella, ideally packed in water, and thinly sliced Prosciutto di Parma or San Daniele. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different herbs and spices too! A sprinkle of Italian seasoning or a pinch of red pepper flakes can add an extra layer of flavor. For a vegetarian option, you can substitute the prosciutto with sun-dried tomatoes or roasted red peppers. If your prosciutto is too thick, it won’t wrap nicely around the mozarella balls, making it difficult to eat. To get the best taste, prepare the Prosciutto Wrapped Mozzarella Bites just before serving. Letting them sit for too long can cause the prosciutto to become soggy.
