Pink Kiss Cookies

Ingredients
  

Cookies
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Red food coloring (gel preferred)
  • Powdered sugar, for coating

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.

  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, and mix until just combined.

  6. Add red food coloring, a few drops at a time, until you reach your desired pink shade. Mix well. Now we have a Pink Kiss Cookies dough.

  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Once cooled, roll each cookie in powdered sugar to coat.
