Ingredients
Method
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper to ensure the cheese does not stick.
- Sprinkle exactly half of the shredded parmesan cheese evenly across the parchment-lined sheet pan.
- Slice your white onion into rounds that are approximately 1/4-inch thick and place these onion slices in a single layer directly on top of the bed of parmesan cheese.
- Evenly sprinkle the black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder over the onion slices, then lightly spray or brush each onion ring with a small amount of olive oil.
- Add the remaining half of the parmesan cheese over the top of the onions, ensuring each ring is well-covered.
- Place the pan in the oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes until the cheese becomes golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven, let them sit for a minute to firm up, then use a pizza cutter or knife to break the sheet into individual chips and serve immediately.
Notes
For the most consistent results, always use parchment paper to prevent sticking and grate your own parmesan cheese from a block. Leftover chips can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 days.
