Ingredients
  

  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 Earl Grey tea bag
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla syrup such as Torani® (or to taste)
  • as needed ice

  • Tall Glass

Method
 

  1. Bring the 3/4 cup of water to a boil in a kettle or small saucepan.

  2. Remove the water from the heat and add the Earl Grey tea bag. Allow it to steep for exactly 5 minutes to develop a strong flavor.

  3. After steeping, remove and discard the tea bag.
  4. Fill a tall glass to the brim with fresh ice.

  5. Pour the 1/2 cup of milk over the ice.

  6. Slowly pour the strongly brewed Earl Grey tea over the milk.
  7. Add the vanilla syrup to the glass.

  8. Stir everything well until combined and chilled. Taste and add more vanilla syrup if desired.

Notes

For a less watery drink, allow the brewed tea to cool for 10-15 minutes before assembling over ice. This prevents the ice from melting too quickly and diluting the flavors.
