Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 0.5 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.25 cup finely diced green onions
  • 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon onion powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
For the Tortillas
  • 4 large flour tortillas 10-12 inch
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or olive oil

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, mix cream cheese, cheddar cheese, green onions, garlic powder, and onion powder until well combined. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over each tortilla.
  4. Stack the tortillas on top of each other and gently press down.
  5. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut the stacked tortillas into bite-sized triangles or squares.
  6. Arrange the tortilla bites in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  7. Brush the tops of the bites with melted butter or drizzle with olive oil.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the tortillas are golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving and enjoy.

Notes

Softening cream cheese is crucial for easy mixing and smooth consistency. Don't overfill tortillas to prevent sogginess. Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter for clean, even slices. Ensure oven is properly preheated. Can add chopped jalapenos for spice or sun-dried tomatoes for Mediterranean flair. Serve with salsa, guacamole, or sour cream dip.
