Method
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Prepare the potatoes: In a large bowl, toss the cubed potatoes with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Make sure all potatoes are coated well.
- Arrange the potatoes: Spread the seasoned potatoes in a single layer on a baking sheet.
- Roast the potatoes: Bake for 20 minutes.
- Add the sausage: Remove the baking sheet from the oven and add the sliced smoked sausage on top of the potatoes.
- Continue baking: Return to the oven and bake for another 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the sausage is browned.
- Dress and cheese: Remove from the oven and drizzle the buttermilk ranch dressing evenly over the potatoes and sausage. Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese and chopped chives.
- Melt the cheese: Return to the oven for 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve: Let cool slightly before serving. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes if desires.

Red pepper flakes can be added for a little heat.
