Ingredients

  • 1 loaf frozen bread dough thawed
  • 4 tablespoons butter melted
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pinch red pepper flakes optional
  • Olive oil for coating

Equipment

  • Bundt pan
  • 9-inch round baking pan

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a bundt pan or a 9-inch round baking pan with olive oil.
  2. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  3. Cut the thawed bread dough into 1-inch cubes.
  4. Dip each dough cube into the garlic butter mixture, ensuring it's well coated.
  5. Layer the coated dough cubes into the prepared pan.
  6. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the dough.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let cool for a few minutes before inverting onto a serving plate.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Start with fully thawed bread dough to ensure a fluffy texture. Don’t skimp on the garlic butter; it's the key to the irresistible flavor. Feel free to experiment with different cheeses – cheddar, provolone, or even a sprinkle of gorgonzola would work well. To prevent over-browning, tent the bread with foil during the last 10 minutes of baking. For extra flavor, brush the top with additional garlic butter right after baking. If you’re short on time, use pre-made garlic butter. For a fun twist, add chopped pepperoni or cooked bacon to the mix. Letting the bread cool slightly before inverting prevents it from falling apart. Be generous with the fresh parsley; it adds a burst of freshness and color.
