Cut each hulled strawberry in half lengthwise.
1 pound fresh strawberries
In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
4 ounces cream cheese, 1/4 cup powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Spoon or pipe the cream cheese mixture onto the cut side of each strawberry half.
Sprinkle with chocolate shavings, sprinkles, or chopped nuts, if desired.
Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes before serving to allow the filling to firm up slightly.
