Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef (90% lean or higher)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 3 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2/3 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 2-3 tbsp plain Greek yogurt
  • 1.5 tbsp light mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp yellow mustard or Dijon
  • 1 tbsp sweet pickle relish
  • 1/2 tsp pickle juice optional
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder for the sauce
  • 1 pinch smoked paprika
  • 4 large high-protein wraps or tortillas
  • 1.5 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced dill pickles
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion optional

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Mixing Bowls

Method

  1. Prepare the Beef: Combine the meat with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce, then form thin patties and pan-fry for 2 minutes per side or brown in a skillet.
  2. Chop the Meat: If you cooked the beef as patties, roughly chop them into chunks once they are browned to make the wraps easier to assemble.
  3. Mix the Special Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt, light mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, relish, pickle juice, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
  4. Warm the Wraps: Briefly heat your tortillas or wraps in the microwave or on a dry pan for a few seconds to make them flexible and easy to roll.
  5. Assemble: Spread a layer of the special sauce in the center of each wrap, then pile on the cooked beef, lettuce, cheddar cheese, pickles, and chopped onions.
  6. Roll the Wrap: Fold the sides of the tortilla inward and roll it tightly like a burrito.
  7. Optional Toast: For extra crunch, place the assembled wrap in a skillet over medium heat for 1 to 2 minutes per side until the exterior is golden brown.

Notes

To get the most authentic flavor, do not skip the Worcestershire sauce as it provides the deep savory umami kick. Rinse chopped onions under cold water before adding them to the wrap to mellow out the sharp edge.
