- Gather all ingredients.
- Combine bananas, brown sugar substitute, and maple syrup substitute in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir until sugar has melted. Add water, increase heat, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 12 to 15 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in salt, cinnamon, banana extract, maple extract, and vanilla extract. - For the banana cream foam, combine cream and banana syrup in a glass and use a frother to beat until foamy.1/4 cup heavy whipping cream, 1 tablespoon homemade banana syrup
- For caramelized bananas, melt butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Stir in maple-flavored syrup. Arrange banana slices in a single layer in the skillet and cook until golden brown and caramelized, 3 to 5 minutes.2 teaspoons butter, 1/2 medium banana, sliced, 1 tablespoon sugar-free maple flavored syrup
- Pour coffee into a mug. Combine banana syrup, banana extract and hot milk in a cup and pour over coffee. Top with banana cream foam and caramelized bananas.1/2 cup hot coffee, 1/2 cup hot milk, 3 tablespoons homemade banana syrup, 1/4 teaspoon banana extract
Notes
For an iced version, make all components as listed up through Step 5. For the final step, fill a glass with ice, and add 1/2 cup cold milk and 1/2 cup cold coffee. Top with banana cream foam and caramelized bananas.
