Ingredients
  

Chicken
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Breadcrumb Mixture
  • 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Sauce & Cheese
  • 1 (24 ounce) jar marinara sauce
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Season the chicken breasts with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

  3. In a shallow dish, combine the Italian breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, and garlic powder.

  4. Dredge each chicken breast in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to adhere.

  5. Place the breaded chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through.

  6. Remove the chicken from the oven and top each breast with marinara sauce.

  7. Sprinkle generously with shredded mozzarella cheese.

  8. Return to the oven and bake for another 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  9. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with extra parsley, if desired.
